What personal data we collect (and why we collect it)

In general we are trying to collect data as sparingly as possible. We are not using any social media integration, and if we will do so in the future, we will try to do this as privacy-savvy as possible (we will then write about it here). You can always generate an overview over our inclusions and integrated services and settings at dataskydd.net – a site which makes these things transparent.

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

Cookies

If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

What rights you have over your data

You keep the full rights over your data. If you want your data deleted, please send us an email from the email address which you have used to comment on our website. We will then delete your data from our database completely. By that, your comments will be deleted, too.

Where we send your data

Jetpack

We are regularly optimizing our website and use the Jetpack WordPress Plugin to analyze our user’s access. Jetpack uses cookies (small text files) and stores them on your computer. Data in these text files are processed by servers in the U. S. Read more on how Jetpack treats your data and ensures your privacy here:

How we protect your data

We are using the services of the provider DomainFactory. He provides storage and publishing infrastructure in data centers in Europe. The creation of log files for this site has been switched off.
